Prophecy in the Bible serves three main purposes:
Foretelling — predicting future events (e.g., Christ’s birth, return, and final judgment).
Forthtelling — delivering God’s message to His people in real time (e.g., warning, correction, encouragement).
Revealing — unveiling God’s long-term plan for humanity’s redemption.
Every prophetic message points back to God’s sovereignty and Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of all prophecy (see Revelation 19:10 — “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”).
